Partisan Ossuary

Partisan Ossuary

During the Second World War (1941-1945), many partisans lost their lives in the national liberation struggle in the Maribor area in clashes with the occupier.
After the war, 139 fallen fighters were buried in a mass grave in the Pobrežje Cemetery. Four of them are unknown, and the names of the 135 known partisans are inscribed on the memorial plaques of the monument, which was erected in 1979.
