Mount Sibilla is a peak (2,175 m) within the Sibillini mountain group of the Apennines. It takes its name from the Apennine Sibyl, the mythical inhabitant of the cave of the same name located near the summit, who has for centuries imbued the peak with an aura of legend and mystery. Administratively, the mountain lies within the municipality of Montemonaco and, in part, that of Montefortino (belonging to the provinces of Ascoli Piceno and Fermo, respectively), with the entire area situated within the Monti Sibillini National Park. The Sibilla Refuge is also located on the mountain.
